Kristopher: Music Is A Ladder

For this episode, we had a conversation with Kelan’s brother, Kristopher. After a difficult divorce, Kris's broken heart turned him off of music entirely for nearly a decade. Having been a musician and music lover for his whole life prior, the absence of music from his life is indicative of the pain he felt and the passion he lost. One day he heard the Twenty One Pilots song, Tear in my Heart. The song's agonizing lyrics and catchy melody spoke to Kris's anguish. This song became a gateway to other songs that he could relate to and rock-out to, and his love of listening to and playing music slowly returned. His journey eventually led to meeting a new love who he married a few years ago. It was a joy to watch his face light up when talking about this love. It felt like we went on this journey with him. Though his anguish has subsided, his love of the music that helped him move forward with his life persists. Robert: A Love Song for Tammy

On this very special episode of That Takes Me Back we are joined by Kelan's dad, Robert. Robert shares his beautiful love story with his late wife, Tammy.
