He began employment with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration at Marshall Space Flight Center in 1981 as an aerospace engineer. Corbally, Ph.D. and staff member of the Vatican Observatory.    Why does the Vatican have an observatory?  Why did the Church shun science then now study it?  What research is the Vatican conducting?  What happens to that research and what happens if a discovery is made that is in contravention to religion?
