WakeUp Daily Bible Study
Good morning and welcome to Wake Up with Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly. Today we’re in Isaiah 43:18-19, and this episode is all about letting go of the pain behind you so you can see the new thing God is doing in front of you. The Scripture says, “Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing.” That is such a powerful reminder that God is always moving forward, always working ahead, and always making a way, even in what feels like a wilderness season. Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly talk about how easy it is to replay the old things over and over again. The hurt, the breakup, the divorce, the mistake, the disappointment, the failure. When we keep dwelling there, it becomes hard to notice what God is doing now. But this message is a call to lift your eyes and stop staring at what was. God is not stuck in your past. He is already working in your future. This episode also brings out something really important. We tend to remember the painful former things more than the powerful ones. The Israelites walked through an unbelievable miracle at the Red Sea, yet still struggled to trust God afterward. David was different. He remembered what God had already done and used those memories to build faith for what was next. That is such a good challenge for all of us. Remember God’s goodness, but do not live trapped in old pain. If you are in a wilderness season right now, let this encourage you. God is still making a way. He is still bringing streams into dry places. He is still doing something new, even if you do not fully see it yet. Do not stay locked into what used to be. Lift your eyes. God is up ahead.
