Episode S2. Ep. 7: The value behind a college degree Cover

Beschreibung

Today, I got to talk with an old college buddy of mine about the value a college degree has. It was awesome to learn more from someone else who graduated from the same school. I get to see what they think the application of their degree has had and what they think the future of college holds. What used to be a luxury is now considered a commodity and in one of the toughest job markets in recent times… We have some pretty strong opinions on it. We also had strong opinions on relationships and how they’re formed. Do opposites really attract? We reflect on our time in college and the fun we had and how what made us happy then certainly doesn’t make us happy now.

S2. Ep. 8: PWIs, HBCUs, and a foot of height difference

Recently, a fair amount of life has changed. I started a new job. I started looking at new cities to move to. I ran a Spartan Race. I’m planning on running a half marathon next weekend simply out of spite. It seems like half of you are running half marathons as your new “I’m 20” personality trait. So without training, I’m going to run and complete a half marathon. Once I do that, I am going to run a full marathon, but I’m actually going to train for that one. This was a great episode. Seb and I are a lot alike and a lot different. He’s a 6’4 black man, I’m a 5’4 white man. He’s younger, I’m older. He from one state, I’m from another. needless to say, I really appreciate our friendship and I’m grateful that the discussions we have on our differences bring us closer together rather than further apart. This is a great episode, talking about the differences in education, life experiences, and even some sports gambling.

Today I had the pleasure of having an old college friend of mine, Lars, join the podcast. Lars is always been a deep thinker. Sometimes… A little bit too deep of a thinker. But Lars remains one of my favorite people to have a challenging discussion with. Lars covered a lot of ground today. My favorite conversations with Lars are always around life so we talked about some of the most “life” things there are. Mental health, chapters of life, and love. What do you think is the least talked about mental health issue? What was your biggest stressor in college? Can you quantify love? Is there a healthy or an unhealthy way to love? I’ve been really fortunate to have Lars become a closer and closer part of my life as time is gone on. I’m glad that he was able to join me for this episode and I hope you all enjoy.
