Beschreibung

I had one of those moments the other day that just stopped me in my tracks. One of my mates messaged me. "Wanna go Seadooing?" That was it. No planning. No overthinking. No three-week discussion in the group chat. Just... "Wanna go Seadooing?" About half an hour later we were absolutely ripping around Okanagan Lake like a couple of oversized children who somehow convinced themselves this counted as being responsible adults.

Episode Episode 224 The Story That's Keeping You Stuck Cover

Episode 224 The Story That's Keeping You Stuck

I want to start today with something that might piss you off. Smart people change their mind quickly. Everyone else... Defends their old bullshit like it pays their rent. Think about that for a second. Because I reckon every single one of us has done it. Including me. Especially me. We tell ourselves these little stories... "I'm not a morning person." "I'm just bad with money." "I've always struggled with my weight." "I'm terrible at consistency." "I don't have discipline." "I'm just an anxious person." "I'm not confident." And after you've repeated that story enough... It stops sounding like an opinion. It starts sounding like a fact. You stop questioning it. You build your entire life around it. And before you know it... You've built a prison... Out of your own fucking sentences.

EPISODE 221 The Best Decision That Scared the Shit Out of Me

Today's episode is a little different. Two years ago today, we packed up our lives and moved to Kelowna. And honestly... I almost didn't do it. I remember that drive like it was yesterday. The car was absolutely jammed. Everything I owned was crammed into it. My son Jude was asleep in the back. My dog was asleep. I'm driving through the mountains looking around thinking... "What the fuck are you doing?" You know those moments where you're too far in to turn around... But not far enough to know if you've completely fucked your life up? That was me. Because here's the thing... People love talking about taking risks after they've worked out. Nobody talks about what it actually feels like in the middle of one. It doesn't feel inspiring. It doesn't feel exciting. It feels like anxiety wearing a motivational T-shirt. You're sitting there trying to convince yourself you've made the right decision while your brain is listing every possible way this could end in disaster. And mine did a bloody good job. "What if this doesn't work?" "What if the business falls apart?" "What if Jude hates it?" "What if we don't make friends?" "What if we have to move back?" Your brain is an absolute prick sometimes. It thinks it's protecting you.
