A Woman’s Place
More than 90% of women were married by age 30 in 1970. Many couldn't get a credit card, open a bank account, or access birth control without a man's permission. That's not ancient history. That's within a lifetime. In this episode, we take a hard look at how women's lives have changed over the past half-century. In just a few decades, women went from being financially dependent on men and largely excluded from many opportunities to having unprecedented access to education, careers, and personal autonomy. Few social changes have happened this quickly or reshaped daily life so profoundly. We'll unpack what changed, what those changes have meant for all of us, and why one of the most significant social transformations in modern history continues to generate such strong reactions.
