In the launch episode of The Spirit of America, American Freedom Alliance President Dr. Karen Siegemund sits down with Dr. Bradley Thayer, AFA Fellow and originator of the Spirit of America Institute, for a wide-ranging conversation on American identity and its defense.  They discuss the Institute’s founding vision, the unique “Spirit of 1776” that defines the American people, our British and Western civilizational roots, the principles of political liberalism, and the urgent need to restore pride in our heritage amid unrelenting attacks from neo-Bolshevik progressive forces that have infiltrated institutions, media, education, and the Democratic Party. Dr. Karen Siegemund, PhD, is President of the American Freedom Alliance, a Los Angeles-based organization dedicated to defending Western civilization, American values, and freedom. A scientist with extensive experience in underwater acoustics and sonar system development during the Cold War (including sea trials hunting Soviet submarines), she is also an educator and longtime advocate who famously lost a teaching position after publicly praising Western civilization’s contributions to humanity. As the daughter of a man who grew up in Hitler’s Berlin, Dr. Siegemund brings a deeply personal commitment to recognizing the fragility of liberty and the slow erosion of rights. She organizes major conferences, spoken widely on culture and politics, and leads AFA’s mission to awaken and mobilize citizens against tyranny in all its forms. Dr. Bradley Thayer is a Fellow of the American Freedom Alliance, a prominent political scientist, and national security expert specializing in grand strategy, the rise of China, communist ideology, and threats to Western civilization. Holder of a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, he has taught at institutions including the University of Minnesota Duluth and Missouri State University’s Department of Defense and Strategic Studies, served as a Fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Center, and worked as a consultant to RAND and in advisory roles for U.S. government security initiatives. A founding member of the Committee on the Present Danger: China, Dr. Thayer is a prolific author and commentator on U.S.-China relations, the historical evolution of communism from Lenin to the present, and the need to defend American liberalism and identity. He conceived the Spirit of America Institute to restore pride in our unique heritage and counter the domestic and international forces seeking to undermine it. Tommy Robinson - Warning to America

We hosted a sold-out evening in Los Angeles with Tommy Robinson, complete with high security and a riveting talk. Drawing from years of first-hand experience, Tommy exposed how jihad is waged in the UK — through grooming gangs, horrific assaults, and authorities that protect perpetrators while persecuting victims and truth-tellers. His core message was sobering: Islam’s conquest tactics are highly effective even as a tiny minority, succeeding because far too few dare to resist.  Tommy is one of those few — and he has paid a heavy price through imprisonment, smears, and constant threats.
