Barely Believing Podcast
Most people think Jesus’ first miracle was simply about turning water into wine. But what if John was showing us something much deeper? In this episode of the Barely Believing Podcast, Pastor Dustin Hall takes a closer look at the wedding at Cana in John 2 and the strange details John includes: six stone water jars, Jewish purification, living water, the temple, the rock in the wilderness, and the blood and water that flowed from Jesus’ side at the cross. Why were the jars stone? Why were there six of them? Why were they used for purification? Why does John immediately move from the wedding feast to Jesus calling His body the true temple? This episode traces the biblical thread from the purification laws of Leviticus, to Moses striking the rock in Exodus, to Paul saying “that Rock was Christ” in 1 Corinthians 10, and finally to John 19, where Jesus is pierced and blood and water flow from His side. Jesus’ first miracle was not merely about wine. It was about cleansing, fulfillment, righteousness, and the true source of living water. If you have ever felt spiritually empty, unclean, tired of trying harder, or unsure where righteousness actually comes from, this episode will help you see the gospel in a story you may have heard a hundred times. Scriptures discussed include John 2:1–11, John 2:19–21, Leviticus 14, Leviticus 15, Numbers 19, Exodus 17:6, Psalm 105:41, 1 Corinthians 10:4, John 19:34, Matthew 27:51, and 1 Corinthians 1:30. Subscribe for honest conversations about faith, doubt, Scripture, Jesus, and what it means to follow God when you are living your faith out loud… or barely at all. #JesusFirstMiracle #WeddingAtCana #John2 #WaterIntoWine #Jesus #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #BarelyBelieving #LivingWater #ChristOurRighteousness #ThatRockWasChrist #Gospel #BibleTeaching #ChristianYouTube #FaithAndDoubt
