3/26/23 Palm Sunday "The Palm, The Donkey, and The Crowd"

This is a break from the normal layout. It's a podcast looking at Palm Sunday, and what it means. Our hosts will examine the history of the palm branches, why they were important, the contrast between the palms and Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, and how the crowd's missing the message of Jesus caused them to go from "Hosanna" to "Crucify Him" in the course of a days.

3/19/23 Hebrews 9:23-10:25 "Jesus is Greater Than..."

In this service, my daughter Anna sings "Psalm 46 Lord of Hosts," and I preach on the importance of the symbolism of the tabernacle. We end the service being reminded of the eternal sufficiency of the sacrifice of Jesus for the permanent forgiveness of our sins.

3/12/23 Hebrews 9:1-15 "Jesus is Greater Than..."

In this sermon and the two following, we will examine the role of the tabernacle, the high priest, and the sacrifice, and see how Jesus is greater than each of these. This sermon looks at the tabernacle. While it served a purpose, it was insufficient, and a prototype to the eternal sufficient sacrifice of Jesus to offer actual forgiveness from sin, and not simply postponing the punishment that our sin demands.

3/5/23 Hebrews 8:7-13

In this sermon, we look at the second half of Hebrews 8, and how the old covenant wasn't sufficient for heart change. It was great for behavior modification...not necessarily the best for making our hearts new and helping us to love Jesus and others more. The previous week's sermon is not available...church had technical difficulties.

Who is Melchizedek, why is he important, and why on earth did the writer of Hebrews write about him in Chapter 7? All those questions and more are answered in this sermon.
