Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla
In this Daily Devotion for August 6, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 76:7-9, which asks a hard question: when God's anger is fully roused against sin, who can stand before Him? Yet the psalm reveals that His judgment has a purpose beyond punishment. God arises to save the humble. This devotion traces that purpose to the cross. God's judgment was uttered fully there, and it fell on Jesus instead of on you. He stood where sinners could not stand and bore the full weight of that judgment, so that for everyone humble enough to trust Him rather than their own strength, judgment becomes salvation. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, freely given through His finished work. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He assures the humble of that mercy again, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Bring your humility to God today, not your pride. He is still the God who arises to save the humble, and His judgment already fell where it needed to fall, leaving nothing but mercy for you.
