Acne creams and medications treat the symptoms but don’t address the root cause of the issue. Topical acne creams can address the issue temporarily. Products containing annatto extract, a special form of vitamin E, can control oil production, but the real problem is not excess oil production! Acne and blackheads are not caused by increased oil production. The real problem is the production of thicker, stickier oil. The following factors cause this thicker sebum production: 1. Hormones (androgens) 2. Too much insulin 3. Zinc deficiency 4. Vitamin A deficiency 5. Seed oil consumption Your sebum is mainly composed of unsaturated fat.
