Dr. Greg Show (Live)
I spent last night watching perhaps the most “Dumb and Dumber” debate in the history of the internet. We watched a “Beyond Terrain” podcast featuring an anti-vax investigative journalist (Jeremy Hammond) trying to convince a “Terrain Theorist” (Liam Dalton) that viruses actually exist. You read that right. We have a journalist who hates vaccines arguing with a guy who failed out of biochem and thinks the entire field of microbiology is a hoax. It is a masterclass in the Dunning-Kruger effect. The level of confidence these people display while having absolutely zero idea how a PCR test or genomic sequencing works is genuinely infuriating. They want you to believe that millions of scientists globally are either too stupid to use a control group or are part of a massive conspiracy—all so they can sell you $55 seawater. Here is the reality check on the nonsense I subjected myself to so you don’t have to. The Anchor Story: The “Viruses Have Never Been Isolated” Lie They Said (The Mainstream Grift): The central argument from the Terrain Theory camp is that “viruses have never been isolated.” They claim that because we use cell cultures (monkey kidney cells, etc.) rather than having a magical, floating, 100% pure virus in a vacuum, the virus doesn’t exist. They claim genomic sequencing is just a computer “randomly assembling” data to create a fake genome. The Dr. Greg Reality: This is scientific illiteracy weaponized for profit. “Isolation” in virology does not mean what they think it means. * The Gold Standard: “Cell culture is considered the gold standard... You don’t need a single viral particulate or a single viral isolate in order to do the whole genome sequencing of the virus. That’s the whole point.” * On Sequencing: They act like we are guessing. We aren’t. We use Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). We have unique barcodes on pieces of DNA. It is like a puzzle box; the pieces only lock together one way. “It’s not randomly assembled any more than you randomly assemble a puzzle... the pieces lock together in one way.” * The Bottom Line: If you don’t have a reference genome, you can still do de novo sequencing. We do this for microbes at the bottom of the ocean. The idea that we can’t sequence a virus because it’s mixed with host cells is “just plain incorrect.” The Roundup: The Grift Breakdown Here is the breakdown of the specific pseudo-science narratives they tried to push and what the data actually says. * The “Beyond Terrain” Podcast Episode [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPEKL-Wm-Sw] * The Narrative: A debate regarding the existence of viruses, featuring Jeremy Hammond (journalist) and Liam Dalton. * The Dr. Greg Reality: This is a “disingenuous argument between two non-scientists about virology.” One guy thinks viruses don’t exist; the other thinks they exist but don’t cause disease. It is a “loyalty test” for their followers. “He thinks that he’s 100% right... He has closed his mind off to learning... He is not engaged. And that’s the problem.” * Stefan Lanka: The Origin of the “No Control” Myth [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Lanka] * The Narrative: Stefan Lanka is the “hero” of the no-virus movement who supposedly proved that “mock infections” (starving cells without a virus) cause the same cell death (cytopathic effects) as viral infections. * The Dr. Greg Reality: Lanka is a conspiracy theorist, not a serious scientist. Scientists use negative controls every single day. “It’s observably not true... Mock infected is literally defined as an uninfected control... The only difference between the infected and uninfected cell cultures is that the uninfected control is not inoculated.” If Lanka were right, no experiment in the last 100 years would have worked. * Exosomes vs. Viruses: The Visual Confusion [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exosome_(vesicle)] * The Narrative: What scientists claim are viruses under a microscope are actually just “exosomes” (cellular debris/transport mechanisms). * The Dr. Greg Reality: Yes, they look similar under an electron microscope. That is why we don’t just use microscopes. We use sequencing, antibody staining, and biological behavior to distinguish them. The papers they cite to “prove” this actually explain exactly how scientists tell them apart. “Statements like that from the paper are taken completely out of their context.” Virus isolation under the microscope: * The Ultimate Grift: Dr. Cowan’s Garden [https://www.drcowansgarden.com/] & Drinkable Sea Water [https://drtomcowan.com/products/marine-plasma-drinkable-sea-water?variant=38041511264409] * The Narrative: You don’t need “germ theory” medicine. You just need to support your “terrain” with natural products sold by the people telling you viruses aren’t real. * The Dr. Greg Reality: This is the smoking gun. They tear down the scientific method to sell you salt water. I found “Marine Plasma Drinkable Sea Water” on their site—$55 for 750ml. It is literal sea water. “The grift is real, ladies and gentlemen... It really is the money that just kills me. It’s wild how much they make.” Next Step: I am organizing to flood the zone with real information and stop this nonsense at the state level. We are going on the offensive. Stay tuned.
