Lane discusses his already storied music career, including being a member of or contributing to iconic Chicago bands: Kids These Days, Marrow, The Social Experiment, Knox Fortune, The Juju Exchange, and Resavoir/Orchestra Resavoir. We also discuss his debut solo album “Looking Out”, which was released in 2023, as well as the new music he is working on. Along with playing live with Liam Kazar, Lane plays solo gigs and continues to record and play live with Resavoir/Orchestra Resavoir as well. We discuss his upcoming show at The Hideout on August 23, 2025.

Mikey discusses his new band Takaat, which includes fellow Mdou Moctar bandmates Ahmoudou Madassane and Soulemayne Ibrahim. He covers everything from their origins, musical style, first tour, to their current EP “Is Noise, Vol.1” out on Mikey’s Purplish Records label. We also discuss how recording and touring with the new band compares to Mdou Moctar as well as a future Takaat tour and releases.
