Dive into a real conversation on men’s health from Coach Brian’s appearance on Terraine’s Behind The Shades podcast about what it takes for busy men to keep their health from getting pushed to the side. This episode is for business owners, entrepreneurs, online business owners, and driven men who are trying to build a career, provide for their family, stay productive, and still have enough energy left to take care of themselves. Brian and Terraine talk through the real-life pressure that comes with work, family, travel, stress, and a full schedule. Brian shares how quickly fitness, nutrition, sleep, and fat loss can fall off when a man is constantly reacting to what everyone else needs from him. He also shares how he fits training into his own life through barn workouts, workouts with friends, exercise with his kids, and even using a bike desk while working. The conversation also gets into food choices, stress management, focus, work-life balance, and the way convenience food can quietly take over a man’s day. Brian talks about Tony the Tiger, McDonald’s fries, desk food, type 2 diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, and why men need to pay attention before their body forces them to. This is a strong episode for any man who wants better energy, better health, better business performance, and a more honest look at what his daily choices are creating. Main topics in this episode: * Why driven men often let their own health slip while taking care of work and family * How business owners and entrepreneurs can protect their energy with simple health habits * Why old habits around food, fitness, stress, and sleep are hard to break * The connection between men’s health, fat loss, productivity, focus, and daily performance * How convenience food, desk food, and processed snacks affect weight, energy, and long-term health * Why type 2 diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight gain should be taken seriously * How training, walking, boxing, and simple movement can help men handle stress * Why work-life balance starts with putting your health back on the schedule * How family, travel, and real-life responsibilities can either pull a man off track or help him build better standards * The power of asking, “What is the next best thing I can do for myself right now?” Want to be coached for free on the Driven For Health Podcast? Episode At 59, He Dropped 12% Body Fat, 17 lbs and 2 Inches Off His Waist in 100 days - 113 Cover

At 59, He Dropped 12% Body Fat, 17 lbs and 2 Inches Off His Waist in 100 days - 113

At 59, Mike was still working out. That was never the problem. The problem was that his waistline was moving in the wrong direction, his nutrition was inconsistent, and the results he wanted never seemed to last. Then life hit a major turning point. Mike had recently lost his mother after years of dementia-related decline. He had started a new job. His daughter’s wedding was coming up, and he wanted to walk her down the aisle feeling better in his own body. So he joined The Call To Rise 100-Day Men’s Fat Loss Challenge. In this episode of Driven For Health, Coach Brian Parana sits down with Mike to talk through what actually changed. Over the course of the program, Mike lost about 15 to 17 pounds, dropped close to 12% body fat, and took roughly 2 inches off his waist. He did it while still eating out, traveling, going to social events, and living his normal life. The biggest change was the way he approached food. Mike focused on portion control, protein, vegetables, water, fewer drinks, better restaurant decisions, and weekly accountability. He did not need an extreme diet. He needed a plan he could repeat. Mike also talks about the value of being in a men’s group during a season when family, work, grief, and change were all happening at once. That accountability helped him stay consistent when it would have been easy to put his health on the back burner again. This conversation is for the man who keeps working out but still cannot get his waistline moving. It is also for the man who knows his next season of life requires a better health plan than the one he has been using. The Call To Rise is a 100-day Fat Loss Transformation Experience designed for driven men ready to get back to a healthy body, boost their energy, and lead as a powerful man.  If you are struggling with some form of chronic illness such as high blood pressure, cholesterol or even Type 2 Diabetes - this program is designed for you too.  Through a proven system of strength training, personalized nutrition, and radical accountability, you’ll drop 20–30 pounds and rebuild confidence from the inside out and even improve chronic illness issues.  It’s more than a fitness program, it’s an body transformation experience with a Brotherhood of like-minded men committed to showing up, leveling up, and leading in a body they are excited about.  This is your wake-up call to rise.  www.thecalltorise.com

The Sleep Talk Every Man Over 40 Needs to Hear (Live Coaching Call) - 111

Sleep is the one recovery pillar that most men consistently ignore, and it's costing them more than they realize. In this roundtable episode, Coach Brian and the guys break down what actually makes sleep work: duration, continuity, and regularity. The conversation gets real fast. From sleep apnea and CPAP machines to bathroom breaks, hot nights, and late-night screens, the group shares exactly what their nights look like and what they're doing to improve them. You'll also hear key insights from Coach Brian's recent solo interview with sleep expert Nick Lambe, including the three "P" factors (predisposing, precipitating, and perpetuating) that quietly turn men into self-proclaimed bad sleepers. If you've ever told yourself "I just don't sleep well," this episode is for you. Because that mindset might be the biggest thing standing between you and real rest. What you'll hear in this episode: -Why sleep quality matters more than just the hours you log -The difference between REM and non-REM sleep and why both count -How your relationship with your bed is either helping or hurting you -Why compensating after a bad night often makes things worse -Real talk from men over 40 on what's working and what isn't Sleep is just one piece of the puzzle.  If you're a driven man ready to take back your health, drop 20 to 30 pounds, boost your energy, and lead with confidence, The Call To Rise was built for you. Episode Why Men Over 40 Sleep Worse Than They Think With Nick Lambe - 110 Cover

Why Men Over 40 Sleep Worse Than They Think With Nick Lambe - 110

Most men know sleep matters, but very few understand what they should actually fix. In this episode of Driven For Health, I sit down with Nick Lambe, known as The Online Sleep Coach, for a practical conversation about sleep, recovery, and why so many men over 40 have accepted poor sleep as normal. We talk about why sleep is about more than getting enough hours. Nick breaks down the key areas that matter most: sleep duration, sleep continuity, sleep regularity, and your relationship with sleep. A man can be in bed for 8 hours and still wake up tired if his sleep is broken, inconsistent, or filled with stress and frustration. We also get into REM sleep, non-REM sleep, deep sleep, sleep tracking devices like the Oura Ring, and why sleep scores can be useful without becoming something you obsess over. Nick explains why brain wave activity gives the clearest picture of sleep behavior, and why most consumer devices should be viewed as pattern trackers instead of perfect sleep reports. A major part of this conversation is the mental and behavioral side of sleep. Many men start labeling themselves as bad sleepers. They expect to wake up. They get frustrated before they even get into bed. Over time, the bed becomes connected with pressure, clock watching, work thoughts, and trying to force sleep. Nick explains concepts like conditioned arousal, stimulus control, and why the bed should be associated with sleep instead of scrolling, email, television, or problem-solving your entire life at night. We also cover what to do when you wake up in the middle of the night and cannot fall back asleep, how stress and mood affect sleep, and why better sleep can support fat loss, blood sugar control, training recovery, hunger, cravings, patience, and energy. If you are a man over 40 trying to lose weight, improve your labs, get stronger, and feel better during the day, sleep needs to be part of the conversation. In this episode, we cover: • Why sleep is about more than hours • The difference between sleep duration, continuity, and regularity • How REM and non-REM sleep support the brain and body • Why sleep trackers can help, and when they create more stress • How to use a sleep diary instead of relying only on devices • Why many men normalize poor sleep • The 3 Ps of sleep problems: predisposing, precipitating, and perpetuating factors • How negative thoughts about sleep can keep the problem going • What conditioned arousal is and why it matters • Why the bed should be used for sleep instead of work, scrolling, or worry • What to do if you wake up and cannot fall back asleep • How sleep affects mood, recovery, hunger, cravings, and performance You can learn more about Nick Lambe and his Certified Sleep and Recovery Coach Course here: https://www.sleepcoachcourse.com/ [https://www.sleepcoachcourse.com/] Also, make sure to register for the Men Over 40 Health Summit, happening June 8 to 14.
