Episode That's My Story Cover

That's My Story

Join Ashley and Brittany for an interview with the lovely Sam Uhl of The Cheerful Word. Sam plans Memoir Writing Retreats all over the world for those who are longing to give voice to their life stories and gain a renewed sense of purpose and freedom. Sam was destined for a path of listening to and preserving stories. For as far back as she can remember, she sat at the feet of wise and witty elders. Sam loves to see the light go on inside people when they share their stories out loud, or hold the printed memoir in their hands for the first time. She calls this experience memoir magic and she is privileged that so many have entrusted some of their most deeply moving experiences with her. Episode The Explant... Cover

The Explant...

Join Brittany and Ashley for an interview with encaustic & acrylic artist, Becky Merrill-Collins. Becky had a double mastectomy in 2016 after a breast cancer diagnosis and breast implants were placed for reconstruction. In 2019 her implants were recalled and her doctor never notified her. After years of struggling with a wide variety of symptoms she discovered it was the implants that were to blame. She learned through a Facebook group (tagged below) that thousands of other women are currently going through this around the world. We are excited to hear her story to spread awareness about Breast Implant Illness. Becky is an Army veteran who was a paratrooper and in the Gulf War. She moved to the foothills over 11 years ago from Cincinnati, Ohio where she enjoyed running her own decorative painting business. Not long after moving to Polk County she opened The Hive NC studio and learning space in Mill Spring.  Facebook group: Breast Implant Healing and Illness by Nicole https://www.facebook.com/groups/Healingbreastimplantillness/ Becky's Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/becky.merrillcollins Music: Sarah Louise Frenchwww.sarahlouisefrench.com
