Beschreibung

Pastor Poke Shuler preaches from Mark 14 on Judas Iscariot — a man who walked with Christ, sat at his table, and witnessed everything the other eleven witnessed. He had every opportunity. And he still walked away. The word hazard means a chance, a probability, something that can go wrong based on what we do or fail to do. Judas's life was full of hazards not because of one bad moment, but because his heart was never committed to the Lord he followed. He wanted what God provided without wanting God himself. Jesus looked across that table and still called him friend. He warned him. He gave him every chance to turn. The Son of man goeth as it is written — but woe to the man who makes it happen. Repentance was always an option. Is your heart telling a different story than you think it is? Flowing Truth is the podcast of Honey Brook Baptist Church in Honey Brook, PA.

Memoirs Of A Servant| 5.31.26| Pastor Poke

Pastor Poke Shuler continues the Memoirs of a Servant series in Mark 14, preaching a message about Peter and the moment he was hindered in his walk with God. Every one of the disciples said they would die before they denied Christ. And every one of them scattered when the pressure came. The Gethsemane is the oil press. It is the place of great pressure where everything in you gets squeezed out. The question Pastor Poke sets before the church is not whether you will face yours, but whether you will be ready when you do. The flesh is weak. That is not an excuse — it is a warning. And God already told you what to do about it. Watch and pray. That is the escape Peter had and forfeited because he fell asleep. Had he been watching, had he been worshiping, he would have been ready for the denial he never had to go through. What Gethsemane is coming in your life, and are you awake enough to meet it? A Meal & A Hymn | 5.24.26| Pastor Poke

Pastor Poke Shuler preaches from Mark 14 on the meal and the hymn that took place just before everything fell apart in the Mount of Olives. Knowing full well what was coming, Jesus sat down with his disciples, broke bread, poured the cup, and then they sang. That is the picture this message lives in. The fellowship of the servant's supper, the fellowship of the Savior's sacrifice, the fellowship of the servant's song. Three things that happened at that table before they ever set foot in the garden. And the question Pastor Poke puts to the church is whether those same things mark your memoir as a servant — whether you have given of your body, poured out your life, and kept singing even when the Mount of Olives was waiting. He will drink it new in the kingdom of God. The table is not over. But until then, are we making the most of the one we have now? Episode God Save The King | 5.10.26 | Pastor Poke Cover

God Save The King | 5.10.26 | Pastor Poke

God Save the King | Flowing TruthHoney Brook Baptist Church | Honey Brook, PA | Preached by Pastor Poke Shuler | May 10, 2026 In Second Kings 11, a wicked grandmother seizes a throne by slaughtering the royal family. But one woman — an aunt named Jehosheba — notices a baby in the chaos and makes a decision that changes everything. She steals him away, hides him in the house of God, and spends six years of her life making sure no one finds him. When the dust settles and the young boy Joash is finally crowned, the people cry out: God save the king. In this Mother's Day message, Pastor Poke Shuler draws out a question that cuts straight to the heart: how far are you willing to go to have impact in someone else's life? The story of Joash isn't just a piece of ancient history — it's a portrait of what it looks like when God's people take the raising of the next generation seriously. A committed aunt. A faithful priest. A confederacy of captains and guards who surrounded a young king on every side. None of them fully understood what was at stake. They just knew the king was worth protecting. The application lands close to home. Good men are made by being surrounded by good men. Godly women are shaped by the influence of godly women. Whether it's staying with them in the house of God, taking an oath alongside the people of the church, or putting your spear up before the enemy ever gets close — it costs something to raise a king. And most of the time, the people doing it don't live to see the full result. Pastor Shuler closes with a challenge that lingers well after the benediction. Look around you. Every person in that room is a potential king. Have you crowned them? Have you drawn your spear? Have you gotten into every corner? God saved the king. The question is — will you?

Episode They Worshiped Him | 5.3.26 | Kevin Markham Cover

They Worshiped Him | 5.3.26 | Kevin Markham

They Worshiped Him | Flowing TruthHoney Brook Baptist Church | Honey Brook, PA | Preached by Kevin Markham | May 3, 2026 There are moments in life when everything around us feels like open water; no land behind us, no shore ahead. In Matthew 14, the disciples found themselves exactly there: in the middle of the sea, tossed by waves, fighting the wind through the darkest hours of the night. It was a storm they didn't choose, in a place they didn't fully understand; yet, it was exactly where Christ had sent them. In this message, Kevin Markham draws our attention not just to Peter stepping out of the boat, but to what happens when the storm finally ends. When Jesus climbs into the ship and the wind ceases, the disciples don't simply breathe a sigh of relief.. they worship. For the first time, they look at Christ and say with full conviction: of a truth, thou art the Son of God. The storm didn't destroy their faith. It deepened their understanding of who He is. God doesn't always remove us from hard places. Sometimes He puts us in them; to protect us from what's on the shore, to strip away the fear that clouds our vision, and to reveal Himself in ways we wouldn't see otherwise. The disciples needed the storm to recognize the Savior. Job needed loss to fall on his face in worship. And we are no different. Whether life is holding together or falling apart — whether the pieces fit or half of them are missing — the call is the same. Fear and faith cannot live in the same heart at the same time. When we fix our eyes on Christ instead of the boisterous winds around us, the storms of life stop pulling us away from God and start drawing us toward Him. What is the storm in your life trying to show you about who He is?
