Attorney Sean Alto from the law firm, Cooper & Elliott, joins me to talk about how Stone's death impacted him and his outlook with his own family. Sean was the first contact I made at the law firm and his composure and dedication to our family was deeply needed and appreciated. He has been by our side ever since that first call on March 5, 2021. He shares insight from a legal point of view on how these criminal acts have lifetime impact on so many. Listen to his views and consider his advice for your own family.

Episode S1 E4: Attorney Rex Elliott Cover

S1 E4: Attorney Rex Elliott

Attorney Rex Elliott from the law firm, Cooper & Elliott, joins me to talk about how the legal landscape has changed in Ohio. Now, if someone is charged with hazing, it is no longer classified as a misdemeanor—it now becomes a felony when it involves substantial injury or death. Rex goes on to explain how the Stone Foltz case was the driving force behind the state legislature's action to finally pass Collin's Law. Not only does Collin's Law elevate hazing to a felony with possible jail time, but also mandates that colleges must post the hazing history of organizations on campus for parents and students to examine. Furthermore, colleges and universities have a mandatory obligation to report incidences of hazing to local law enforcement. This is an eye-opening podcast that explains what happens in the aftermath of a hazing incident.
