Man in his various states. Man made for dominion by his very nature, not merely by a covenant or command. The focus of this chapter is man in his pre-fall condition. Some deny that the dominion mandate continues for fallen man today, but since this was part of man's very nature, made in God's image, it would be to cease to be a human being if the dominion mandate, and by extension civil rule, ceased or was abrogated.
