Toungoo Empire

Pyu City-States

Kingdom of Luang Phrabang

In this episode, we explore the Kingdom of Luang Phrabang, a Lao monarchy that emerged in 1707 after the collapse of the once-powerful Lan Xang empire. We trace how the kingdom navigated centuries of pressure from larger neighbors, often surviving as a vassal state under Siamese and Burmese influence while preserving its royal traditions and regional identity.
