Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1940693/fan_mail/new] On today's episode, we're sitting down with Kendall Concini-Moore, a perinatal mental health advocate who will tell you that she never wanted to be a mother until she did. When she changed her mind, Kendall and her husband made a plan. They knew that with her mental health history, postpartum depression was a real possibility, and they made sure that supports were in place before ever trying to conceive. They did everything right, and it was still incredibly hard. Today, we'll hear about pregnancy loss, an early birth, a baby with silent reflux, a pandemic, and a version of motherhood that looked nothing like what she planned for. We'll talk about what it's like to prepare for something and still be leveled by it and how she found her way through anyway. Oh, and she wrote a children's book that helps kids understand what it looks like when mom is struggling with depression. So of course, we'll drop a link to that in the show notes as always. So without any further ado, please sit back, relax, and enjoy this episode with our friend, Kendall. PSI's Legal Justice Program

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1940693/fan_mail/new] On today’s episode, we’re sitting down to discuss yet another incredible program here at PSI! We’ll be talking with Elizabeth Lilley about the vital work of PSI’s Legal Justice Program, which focuses on educating legal professionals about perinatal mental health disorders and helping improve the support available to parents and families involved in the legal system in the context of a perinatal mental health disorder. This conversation covers PSI’s free resources for legal professionals and families, volunteer opportunities, and the importance of reducing stigma around mental health disorders — which are temporary and treatable. Altogether now: perinatal mental health disorders are temporary and treatable. So, without any further ado, please sit back, relax, and enjoy this episode spotlighting PSI's Legal Justice Program. #ClimbWithPSI

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1940693/fan_mail/new] On today’s episode, we’re sitting down with … ourselves! PSI's Annual Conference is right around the corner, and we know what that means — familiar faces, big energy, and a lot of people who are going to walk past the Climb table and think, wait, what is that? So we figured — we have microphones. Let's talk about it! Before I ever led a Climb, I attended one. I showed up to support a friend. What I didn't know at the time was that I was there for me, too. I just didn't know it yet. Whether you're thinking about attending a PSI Climb event, leading one, partnering with one — or you've heard about The Climb and aren't entirely sure what we're talking about — this one's for you. And if you're headed to PSI’s Annual Conference this year, come say hi to us at the Climb table! Without any further ado, please sit back, relax, and let's talk about how to get involved in a Climb near you! Mentioned on Today's Episode: * Support or lead a Climb! Episode What Is Matrescence? Cover

What Is Matrescence?

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1940693/fan_mail/new] On today's episode, we're talking about matrescence. And if that's a word you've never heard before, you are not alone and you are in exactly the right place. Matrescence is the process of becoming a mother. It's a developmental passage, biological, emotional, social, spiritual. It can begin before birth. And according to our guest, Chelsea Robinson, it may even last a lifetime. Think of it like adolescence, but for motherhood. Messy, disorienting, and probably nothing like what you expected. Chelsea is a licensed clinical social worker, and she brings both the clinical grounding and genuine passion for this topic. We dive into why so many mothers feel blindsided by the identity shift that comes with parenthood. I know that this rings true for a couple of podcast hosts. We also talk about why simply having a name for this experience can be quietly life-changing, and how to know what's normal versus when we might need some extra support. Whether you're in the thick of early motherhood or years in wondering why it still feels like a lot, this one's for you. So without any further ado, please sit back, relax, and enjoy this episode all about matrescence.  Mentioned on today's episode: * What were some things you were afraid to say when you became a parent?
