Beschreibung

L&J // This week Lulu and Jana are having an open and fluid conversation about some topics that have been coming up for them lately. They chat about mental and physical health in regards to trauma and emotions, modern day relationship expectations, habits, the importance of taking care of the nervous system, and how trauma is stored in the body. L&J both consider themselves to be highly sensitive people which is something that neither of them used to identify with, but as they've gotten older and watched themselves experience their triggers and work through their trauma they have both realized that they do have strong emotions and hyper vigilant nervous systems which both need to be protected and prioritized in their day to day lives as well as in relationship. L&J discuss why the "burnout" culture and people  believing that everything needs to be comfortable is actually creating a lot of self entitlement and laziness because goals, growth and hard work are actually often really uncomfortable situations and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. L&J are also reviewing the book Atomic Habits by James Clear, which opened their eyes to a lot of ways they could be doing things differently in their lives. We also talk about: * Being okay with discomfort on your journey of achieving your goals * How to create habits that feel good for you * How to be more productive * Society not wanting to work for the things they really want * Choosing toxic partners due to childhood trauma * Why an unanswered text is modern day silent treatment * Not needing to fit into a box when it comes to marriage and kids * Breaking negative feedback loops Join our Insta: Community [https://www.instagram.com/itswildpodcast/] Leave us a Rating and Review: Apple Podcasts [https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/its-wild-podcast/id1497654327] Stay in touch with your Hosts: Jana [https://www.instagram.com/jana.wollesen/] & Lulu [https://www.instagram.com/lulugodin/] Mentioned in episode: Jana's Breathwork Practitioner Blythe [https://www.instagram.com/blythehubbard/%20https://www.instagram.com/blythehubbard/] Atomic Habits by James Clear [https://jamesclear.com/atomic-habits] Soundcloud Audiobook link [https://soundcloud.com/mudit-bansal-885220350/atomic-habits-james-clear-mp3]

Episode EP 101: Womanhood, Postpartum Depression & Giving Women Permission to Ask for Help with Amy Koppelman Cover

EP 101: Womanhood, Postpartum Depression & Giving Women Permission to Ask for Help with Amy Koppelman

THE INTERVIEW // We are back! L & J are having a deeply important conversation with Amy Koppelman [https://www.instagram.com/amy_koppelman/] writer and director of  A Mouthful Of Air starring Amanda Seyfried [https://www.instagram.com/mingey/]and Finn Whitrock [https://www.instagram.com/finnwittrock/]. A Mouthful of Air, based on Amy's critically acclaimed 2003 novel of the same name, follows Julie Davis, a warm, kind, loving  wife and mother, and bestselling children’s author.  While Julie's books deal with unlocking childhood fears, she has yet to unlock the dark secret that has haunted her own life. But when her second child is born, events occur that bring that secret to the fore, and with it, a crushing, powerful battle to survive. The story follows Julie's struggle with postpartum depression and with it a suicide attempt, Julies husband and the people in her life attempt to help her but quickly realize that they can't relate to what Julie is going through because they are not living her experience. Postpartum depression is a topic that few want to tackle and bring up, it is an infinitely complex, and can present itself out of nowhere in many women. It's not an easy story but it's an important and heartbreakingly beautiful novel and film. We also talk about.. * The stigma surrounding asking for help * Why it is so hard for so many people to admit that they are struggling with their mental health * The conditioning that women are taught to "just smile" and be "pretty" and "proper" and how that is leading to women being afraid to allow themselves to ask for support * The pressure that many mothers feel to hold their entire family together while they are simultaneously unraveling themselves * The shame that women feel surrounding motherhood, and the mental health challenges that come with it * Tangible tools and practices to integrate into daily routines to support  mental health * The struggle that women face in wanting to trust men but being conditioned to always protect themselves, to walk in pairs, to carry pepper spray, to  cross the street, to guard their drinks * Why society needs to stop making excuses for the actions of men * How childhood trauma gets carried into our adult lives and how to break the trauma cycle and loop for our own children A Mouthful of Air [https://www.instagram.com/amouthfulofair/] The Film Amy's Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/amy_koppelman/] Join our Insta: Community [https://www.instagram.com/itswildpodcast/] Leave us a Rating and Review: Apple Podcasts [https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/its-wild-podcast/id1497654327] Stay in touch with your Hosts: Jana [https://www.instagram.com/jana.wollesen/] & Lulu [https://www.instagram.com/lulugodin/] Resources: Postpartum Support Society [https://www.postpartum.net/get-help/help-for-moms/] Crisis Centre and Suicide Prevention BC [https://crisiscentre.bc.ca] Crisis Services Canada [https://www.crisisservicescanada.ca/en/] Canada Suicide Prevention Hotline: 833-456-4566 USA National Suicide Prevention Hotline [https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org]: 1-800-273-8255

Episode EP 100: Women's Choice, Texas Abortion Law, Violence Against Women + Reproductive Rights Cover

EP 100: Women's Choice, Texas Abortion Law, Violence Against Women + Reproductive Rights

A SOLO // God placed on Jana's [https://www.instagram.com/jana.wollesen/] heart to use her platforms to speak about her experience with  abortion, abusive relationship, sexual assault, miscarriage + the mental, emotional, physical trauma that comes with it. She shares her view on abortion being a hot button political issue of our time, she sugarcoats nothing; as the topic is currently all over social media/the news due to the abortion law that just took effect in the state of Texas. But this is also her testimony because God’s hand is not always immediately obvious in our lives, with trials we easily wonder “why did this happen?”. Jana realized that God was preparing her for such a time as this + He uses every circumstance for good. This topic is huge, controversial af, triggering, which is why Jana combines her own experience with stats, resources + all types of perspectives to keep the chat fluid, and flexible. Jana also talks about.. * shame, guilt, trauma, and grief related to getting an abortion * abusive relationships * molar pregnancy + miscarriage * her abortion clinic experience * reproductive rights + abortion rates * reversing roe + Texas abortion law * Canada's abortion law stats + history * how you can help support women's choice * how God brought her out of this challenging season Resources: If you need immediate crisis support, counselling and justice assistance CALL 604-255-6344. EP 99: Blocked Intimacy, Working with Your Baggage + Staying Open to Love with Kelsey Grant

THE INTERVIEW // We are having an in depth Self-Love Alchemy/Relational Artistry  conversation with Kelsey Grant [https://www.instagram.com/radicalselflove/]. We discuss what we are lacking as a whole in the intimacy department, how to have a healthy relationship with our emotions, healing trauma while in a relationship vs on our own, setting boundaries with our partner, choosing ourselves/our path even if that means letting go of someone and being available to receive our desires. Taking self responsibility when it comes to showing up wholesome in your relationship, being able to part ways when you realize you no longer align, and not shaming your baggage requires vulnerability and courage, but courage and vulnerability aren't mutually exclusive. We also talk about.. * becoming the partner you desire for yourself first * the Feminine wound * blocked intimacy * the masculine and feminine parts within ourselves * choosing someone from a place of fullness * deconditioning + being self expressed in our emotions * giving too many chances + being hooked into fantasies * taking ownership of your baggage * being more open to love Resources: www.legendaryloveacademy.com [https://www.legendaryloveacademy.com/store] Instagram: @radicalselflove [https://www.instagram.com/radicalselflove/] Join our Insta: Community [https://www.instagram.com/itswildpodcast/] Leave us a Rating and Review: Apple Podcasts [https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/its-wild-podcast/id1497654327] Stay in touch with your Hosts: Jana [https://www.instagram.com/jana.wollesen/] & Lulu [https://www.instagram.com/lulugodin/] Sponsor: • @skinfolio [https://www.instagram.com/skinfolio/]| Use code ITSWILDPODCAST for 20% off your first treatment
