King Hero's Journey with Beth Martens
What happens when you realize no one is coming to do what you know needs to be done? In this King Hero interview, I'm joined by Ben of Cambridge, whose path led him from quiet observation to direct action during the rollout of 5G technology in the UK. After researching the technology for himself and concluding that it posed serious concerns, Ben chose to act. He equipped himself with the evidence he believed he needed to stand on firm legal ground, taking responsibility for his own decisions and accepting the consequences that followed. His actions resulted in two arrests and no charges being laid, reinforcing his conviction that ordinary people can learn, prepare, and stand for what they believe. Our conversation, however, goes beyond activism. We'll explore the inner journey that accompanies taking meaningful action—the place where fear, purpose, courage, and trust intersect. Inside this episode, we discuss: * what inspired Ben to take action * preparing to stand in law and personal responsibility * the experience of being arrested and what it taught him * the relationship between fear and courag * discovering purpose through lived experience * learning to trust silence and inner guidance * how the Hero's Journey unfolds when no path has been laid before you Every Hero's Journey reaches a point where certainty disappears and something deeper begins to lead. About Ben For Ben, that place became silence. Join us for a conversation about courage, responsibility, purpose, and the unexpected gifts that can emerge when we trust the path unfolding before us. Ben from Cambridge, UK, decided to take action against the rollout of 5G technology in his local area when he realized no one else was going to do it for him. After researching what he believed were the dangers of the technology being installed and concluding that it was military weapons technology, he prepared himself with the evidence he believed was necessary to defend his actions in law. He was arrested twice and not charged, an experience that strengthened his belief that others can also learn to stand on informed conviction. Following a profound dark night of the soul and a period of purposelessness, Ben came to recognize the gifts hidden within his journey. Today he speaks about allowing fear to become a guide rather than something to escape, and about finding purpose through direct experience. I’m Beth Martens—founder of the House of Free Will, pattern hunter, archetype reader, podcaster, author, coach trainer, and business coach. My calling has truly been a life-or-death matter. After a decade as a corporate VP in my family’s firm, eight transformative trips to India, and a three-year battle with cancer nearly 25 years ago, I turned to archetypes and deep deprogramming work to save my life. Despite doing everything wrong based on limited health knowledge, I accessed the hidden inner roots of what was keeping me sick, stuck, and unconscious. Letting those patterns go changed everything. I went from dying to living almost overnight. Today, I help people who love truth more than their beliefs—people who want to serve with their life’s work and walk their Hero’s Journey—to deprogram the beast system from within and stop unconsciously feeding the forces that harm us. I host the King Hero interview series, where I spotlight leaders, entrepreneurs, movement makers, and lovers of freedom who are carving new paths in a world that desperately needs them. And I also share my own voice, insights, and stories through my new solo podcast, Beth of Fresh Air.
