Majapahit: The Empire That Once Ruled Indonesia — Fexingo History
The golden age of Hayam Wuruk and Gajah Mada gave way to succession crisis. After Hayam Wuruk's death in 1389, his daughter Kusumawardhani and her husband Wikramawardhana ruled, but Hayam Wuruk's son by a concubine, Bhre Wirabhumi, governed the eastern lands. Tensions erupted into the Paregreg civil war (1404–1406), a brutal conflict that pitted half-brothers against each other. Drawing on the Old Javanese chronicle 'Pararaton', we trace the assassination of Bhre Wirabhumi, the destruction of eastern palaces, and the war's lasting toll on the empire. This episode examines how internal rivalry drained Majapahit's resources, loosened its grip on vassals, and paved the way for the rise of Islamic states like Demak. A turning point that transformed the Nusantara political landscape. #Majapahit #Paregreg #CivilWar #BhreWirabhumi #Wikramawardhana #HayamWuruk #Kusumawardhani #Pararaton #Trowulan #Balambangan #OldJavanese #Nusantara #SoutheastAsianHistory #IndonesianHistory #History #FexingoHistory #MajapahitHistory #CivilWarHistory Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo [https://buymeacoffee.com/fexingo]
