Like a bird hovering over its nest to protect its young, the Lord watches over His people with tenderness, alertness, and power. He is not distant, distracted, or careless concerning those who belong to Him. Isaiah reminds us that God is not only our Defender, but also our Deliverer and Preserver. He stands between us and destruction, brings us out of danger, and preserves us by His covenant faithfulness. In a time when Judah was tempted to trust in Egypt for protection, God called His people back to confidence in Him. This is also a word for us today. We must not place our ultimate trust in human strength, systems, money, connections, or what looks powerful. Our safety is in the Lord of hosts. This episode encourages us to rest in the assurance that God is actively watching over His own. Even when we feel surrounded, we are covered. Even when we feel vulnerable, we are not abandoned. We connect this truth to the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 7, where both the wise man and the foolish man faced the same rain, the same floods, and the same winds. The difference was not the storm; the difference was the foundation. One house stood because it was built on the rock, while the other fell because it was built on sand. In today’s episode of Meditations, we reflect on Romans 12:2, where Paul teaches us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The will of God is not discovered through worldly thinking, fear, pressure, or emotion. It is discerned as our minds are renewed by the Word of God. When our thinking changes, our seeing changes. We begin to recognize what comes from God and what does not. Paul describes the will of God as good, acceptable, and perfect. God’s will is good because it flows from His nature. Even when it stretches us, challenges us, or requires obedience that is uncomfortable, His will is always rooted in love, wisdom, righteousness, and purpose. God’s will is acceptable because it is pleasing and approved before Him. A renewed mind does not only ask, “Will this benefit me?” It also asks, “Will this please God?” God’s will is perfect because it is complete, mature, and aligned with His eternal purpose. We may not always understand the process, but we can trust the heart of the One leading us. Be encouraged today: God’s will for your life is not evil, random, or confused. In Christ, we are children of God, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ. Yet Paul teaches that as long as an heir remains a child, he may own everything by right but still live like a servant in experience. Many believers have an inheritance in Christ but must grow in wisdom, character, obedience, faith, and spiritual responsibility to walk in the fullness of it. God’s process of training, correction, patience, and development is not rejection — it is preparation. In this episode, Rev. James encourages us not to despise the process of growth. This episode reminds us that a Spirit-filled church must also be a Word-taught church. The apostles’ doctrine was not human opinion; it was Christ-centered truth handed down by those who had walked with Jesus, heard His words, witnessed His death, and proclaimed His resurrection. Sound doctrine matters because what we believe shapes how we live. If our doctrine is weak, our foundation will be weak. But when we continue in the Word, we become rooted, grounded, stable, and mature.
