I failed before lunch on day one. And I did not eat a single thing on the American Heart Association's high-saturated-fat restricted list. This is Part 1 of a two-part series sitting in the Fuel pillar of the Perimenopause Matrix. Fuel is about how your body uses energy, and for a lot of women in perimenopause, the lipid picture is one of the first places the Fuel pillar starts to signal. In this episode I walk through why the 6% saturated fat target is harder to hit than anyone tells you, where that number actually came from, and why almost all of the research behind it was conducted in men.
