On our second ever episode, Cecil and Izzie speak with Ethan Tyo, founder of the AlterNative Project in Syracuse, NY. Together, the three of them discuss the importance of highlighting Native American Heritage, and how food can be a key way to spread awareness and education. A little about Ethan: Ethan Tyo, Akwesasne Mohawk, Wolf clan is a foodie, a gardener, and an advocate for creating space for Indigenous knowledge and experiences in higher education. Using traditional Haudenosaunee food culture as a mechanism for institutional change, Ethan works across K-12, higher education, and museums to inspire and empower the next generations of Indigenous scholars.
