With 7 million people thought to be juggling work and care, and 2 million people aged 16-64 reporting work-limiting health conditions, it is clear that good quality part-time work is a solution that more employers need to look at. While we may think a flexible working revolution has occurred, the numbers of part-time jobs available are still few and far between. Just 12% of UK jobs ads include the words ‘open to part-time’ and most that do are crowded around low pay bands. We speak to three women about their experiences of trying to find part-time work, to fit with caring and health needs – all with different outcomes.
