Six Characters in Search of an Author - Part 1

**For the best audio experience, we recommend using headphones for tonight’s performance.** Pirandello gives us a satirical meta dark comedy in “Six Characters in Search of an Author” where we meet a dysfunctional family of characters who interrupt a theater company’s rehearsal. The Manager assumes them to be amateur improvisers, but is intrigued by their story nonetheless.

The Proposal

**For the best audio experience, we recommend using headphones for tonight’s performance.** In “The Proposal” by Anton Chekov, Lomov makes a visit with the intention of proposing to his neighbor, Natalya. But as the conversation grows, they keep fighting over various superficial topics. All the while her father, Stepon Stepanovitch, tries to keep peace between them. Will the two work past their differences to join their families in marriage?

Lang, The Choice was originally produced as part of the 2022 Pittsburgh New Works Festival. It shows a brief glimpse into the relationship of two people who want to be together but face obstacles and risk social scrutiny.
