One take away from this lesson is the power of repentance. When the Israelites were led to revival and repentance by Samuel they got God’s attention and won the battle. Sometimes we might not see victory because there are some things we need to repent of. Let’s make sure we are not holding up our victory because we continue to practice sin. In the episode we read about the judgement that fell on Eli’s family. Eli as well as his two evil sons all died. His daughter in law dies in childbirth and the Ark of the Covenant is taken by the Philistines. We also read about the plagues God sent to the Philistines for stealing the ark.One thing we should learn from this lesson is that God should not be just a token for us to display. If we are displaying bumper stickers about God, and T-shirts with Godly messages on them… we need to live a life that reflects what that T-shirt or bumper sticker says. The ark was taken after Israel used God like a bumper sticker. Boaz is a type and shadow of Jesus who is our kinsman redeemer and He also tells us He is going to do whatever it takes to make us like Him. He got this!
