Rethinking Our History
Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2391964/fan_mail/new] Growing up in North Carolina the Trail of Tears was learned about from an early age. One thing we did not learn about were the long walks the Navajo, or the Dine people, had to endure as well. Though they are the only nation that has been allowed to return to their lands, albeit less of them, what they endured shaped future generations. Much like with the Cherokee they faced horrible conditions before they even began their journey. And during the journey they not only had to contend with the conditions, they were also abused by the Army that was escorting them.
