One thing we did not learn about were the long walks the Navajo, or the Dine people, had to endure as well.  Though they are the only nation that has been allowed to return to their lands, albeit less of them, what they endured shaped future generations.  Much like with the Cherokee they faced horrible conditions before they even began their journey. Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2391964/fan_mail/new] We are continuing our celebration of PRIDE month by looking at a time when the US government was so concerned about Communist infiltrating the government, they went after queer folks.  We can see a direct link between the actions taken by the government, and the way people view the queer community today. Lesbians and gay men were seen as a possible threat to national security and were fired for it.  Today we are still seen as immoral and a threat to the American way of life. Episode 69: Missing In Michigan: The Skelton Boys:
