(1) The Resurrection Stirs Our Compassion for the Hurting He executes justice [mishpat] for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. —Deuteronomy 10:18 This is what the Lord Almighty said: “Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. —Zechariah 7:9-10a The Gospel’s Impact: We look at someone in need and we see ourselves.
