153 FolgenAmazingly, here on Blog Talk Radio, we have reached our 138th edition of the Rising Apple Report. And while myself (Sam Maxwell) Rising Apple Site editor Danny Abriano, writers Mike Lecolant and Rich Sparago, and countless others over the 3 years have had quite the fantastic Metsian time on here, we've decided to retire the podcast here on Blog Talk Radio. We thank them for hosting us this entire time, but we look forward pushing forward reincarnated on Soundcloud. Joining us tonight to help talk Mets as well as his Soundcloud channel, the SNDPodcast Channel, is Steven Nosomowitz, as Rich Sparago hosts, with myself and Mike Lecolant joining for the last Blog Talk ride. Yoenis Cespedes, Jose Reyes, Adrubal Cabrera, and others have all returned to help attempt to raise the Mets' playoff chances. Just as one set of cavarly storms back, we lose Steven Matz to the DL with a mild shoulder strain. And I just broke my collar bone. It seems none of us are immune to the Mets injury Orange and Blues. And as always, we will discuss the players to wear number 38 in Mets history, as well as the NL NY legacy of the 1938 season. So, join us for the last Blog Talk episode of the Rising Apple Report!
A rare one indeed on a Saturday at 2pm ET, the 137th edition of the Rising Apple Report comes flying at you with the Mets and the Phillies right smack in the middle of their 3-game series. Sam Maxwell will host, with Mike Lecolant joining him for all the piping hot Mets talk. Joining them as well is Ted Matey, Sam's college freshman roommate and an avid Phillies fan. He'll give us the lowdown on the current status of the Phillies franchise, who's retreaded a bit after a seriously unexpected hot start to the season. We'll get some Chase Utley talk in there as well, and what Ted thinks of all the rules that were triggered with last year's Tejada slide. The Mets are just hovering above the surface with all the injuries that have mounted...we'll discuss what they can do to stay the World Series contender people considered them at the beginning of the season. And we'll discuss Casey Stengel, #37, as well as the 1937 NL NY legacy. So, join us at 2pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
We were ranting and raving on our last podcast, but as they like to say, "That's Baseball." And that's METS baseball in 2016. Panic City must be mobile, 'cause it comes and goes day-to-day. On this, the 136th episode of the Rising Apple Report at 9pm ET, we are happy, but tentative, as always, nonetheless. I, Sam Maxwell, will host, with Rising Apple writers Mike Lecolant and Rich Sparago joining. Our featured guest will be someone who helps us inadvertently along our stead every week with the uniform number list he gathered together over the years, and that's Jon Springer of Mets by the Numbers. The Mets won a series against the Marlins after sweeping the Cubs...we'll discuss that. Jose Reyes is back...that will be discussed as well...Brandon Nimmo's been doing well...discussion will be had...Matt Harvey on the DL!....doesn't that story this year just make you so, so sad? We've got 3 Mets heading to the All-Star Game! We'll give our 2 cents on Jeurys Familia, Noah Sydergaard, and Yoenis Cespedes making it to the Mid-Summer Classic. And of course, with the help of the Uniform number guru, we'll discuss the players to wear 36 in Mets history, as well as 1936 in NY NL lore. So, make sure you join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
Well, here we are, at Ep. 135, and we've got nothing to do other than rant about the Mets, which has been our per usual here since becoming an official podcast in the first week of Jan 2013. Mike Lecolant and I, Sam Maxwell, will bring you exactly what you want to hear on this offnight...a rant about the Mets. Because even when things aren't going well, it's still fun to be upset by a baseball team. We love the Mets, and we love our rants about the Mets. It's where the comedy comes from. So join us at 10pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report. Rant, shall we?
Michael Conforto is really not performing...what can he do to get back on track?Welcome to the heart of June and welcome to the 134th edition of the Rising Apple Report! At 9pm ET, Sam Maxwell will host with Mike Lecolant and Rich Sparago joining for the latest on all the Mets happenings. With no Mets baseball on, might as well keep talking Mets baseball. The Mets are so injured right now that not even manager Terry Collins was immune, being hospitalized prior to the game Sunday and thankfully being released with a clean bill of health (he will manage Tuesday.) It seems the Mets have been dealing with these injuries for their entire existence, and 2016 was unfortunately not immune either. We'll discuss what the Mets can do going forward to get themselves back to the top of the division faster than at this point last season. Matt Harvey seems to have a clear head and is starting to look nasty again. Has Harvey figured it out? Michael Conforto is really not performing...what can he do to get back on track? And as always, we'll discuss the players to wear number 34 in Mets history, as well as the 1934 season of the New York National League. And we'll probably talk about Bartolo Colon at some point throughout the podcast. It's bound to happen. So, make sure to join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
