Using concrete examples, Kim shows how even churches that think themselves friendly can unintentionally communicate insularity, apathy, busyness, prejudice, and the pursuit of comfort. Instead, a welcoming church pursues open communication, gratitude, intentionality, hospitality, and celebration.
