God always welcome us, do we welcome Him?

Fr Simon’s draws from Matthew 10:37– on the spirit of welcome. While we often come to Church expecting God to welcome us, Fr Simon invites us to ask whether we are truly welcoming God in return. The Gospel challenges us to examine our attitude: Do we come to Mass only expecting a fast sermon, going through the motions or do we come ready to receive Christ fully? If God welcomes us with love, our response should be to embrace Him and also welcome one another in our daily interactions. Do not be Afraid, we are never alone

In his homily, Father Terence reflected on how fear can quietly shape the way we live. Using the image of a dog conditioned to remain within an invisible boundary, he showed how fear can keep us trapped even when the barriers are no longer there. He identified two sources of challenge in our lives. The first comes from outside: misunderstanding, criticism, and opposition for doing what is right, as experienced by the prophet Jeremiah. The second rises from within: our struggle with sin, which distances us from God and leaves us trapped in guilt and shame. When fear takes hold, we shrink - growing silent when truth needs to be spoken and passive when courage is required. Yet in the Gospel, Jesus repeatedly tells us, “Do not be afraid.” We are never alone. When did we last look at another person and wonder what type of burdens and troubles they going through and what type of compassion we can render? Today’s Gospel is on compassion - Jesus looks at his people, filled with compassion, He shepherds them and ministers to them. We can be compassionate just like Jesus is compassionate. Unfortunately, in this world of advanced technology, we can forget and look past people, but we are not called to be bystanders, but to actively participate in the mission of Jesus. We become what we eat! - Meeting Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

On this Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, Fr. Clement reminds us that the Eucharist is far more than a ritual - it is a transformation. "We become what we eat," he proclaims, calling us to recognize Christ not only on the Blessed Sacrament, but in one another. Drawing from the readings and Gospel of John, Fr. Clement reflects on humanity's deepest hunger - for peace, forgiveness, healing, and love - and how Jesus meets us in the Blessed Sacrament. The Eucharist is not a reward for the sinless.
