Surf Report for Jacksonville Florida
Good morning! Here's your surf zone forecast for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. We're starting off this Thursday with some seriously nice beach conditions, but there's an important heads up: a High Rip Current Risk is in effect through late Friday night, so swimmers and surfers need to stay sharp out there. For today along the Florida beaches from Fernandina down through Jacksonville and into the Palm Coast area, expect surf heights of four to six feet with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the lower eighties. The water's a pleasant eighty degrees. Northeast winds are running fifteen to twenty miles per hour with gusts up to twenty five. The UV index is very high, so definitely bring that sunscreen. There's no thunderstorm threat today, so you can plan your beach day with confidence. Tides will vary slightly depending on your location, but you've got a morning low early on, highs around midday, and afternoon lows to work with. Over in Southeast Georgia around St. Simons and the Brunswick area, conditions are a bit more mellow with three to four foot surf and sunny skies throughout the day. Similar wind patterns with northeast winds around fifteen miles per hour. Water temperature matches up at eighty degrees, and again, zero thunderstorm potential. Now here's where things settle down a bit. Friday looks fantastic for beach lovers. That High Rip Current Risk continues through late Friday night, but the winds drop to just ten to fifteen miles per hour from the east, and surf heights back down to three to four feet along the Florida coast. Up in Georgia, you're looking at two to three footers. More mostly sunny skies and highs again in the lower eighties. No thunderstorms, so you can plan your whole weekend around the beach. Looking ahead to the extended outlook, Saturday brings two to three foot surf with mostly sunny conditions and highs in the lower to mid eighties. Sunday gets a touch warmer with highs in the mid to upper eighties and similar two to three foot conditions. By Monday, we're watching a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms moving in, but even then, the threat remains slight with highs in the upper eighties. So bottom line: get out there and enjoy these beautiful early summer days, but keep your eyes open for those rip currents through Friday night. It's going to be a fantastic long weekend at the beach!
