From controversies around lockdown rule flounting, conflicting health advice and insufficient testing and health provisions, the response to the pandemic certainly did not come without criticism. We reflect on these and most crucially on the ways in which our personal and collective experiences have changed how we live life today. The legacy of the pandemic can be felt across society and has indeed impact economy, mental health and day to day life. Has this changed life for the better or worse and what have we learnt? We focus mostly on the United Kingdom by tracing the sociopolitical histroy of post-war Britain up to today, in order to give some context to modern British culture. In this episode, we have tried to stray away from specific 'culture war' issues and, instead, we discuss the reasons for rising tensions in spaces online like social media and whether there are clues to the cause of this in the experiences of past generations.
