🧙♂️📰 Gnorm’s Gnews Gnuggets: Illegal Tariffs, War Money, Voter Suppression, and One Very Human AI Gnome New Gnorm’s Gnews Gnuggets is here. Analog Scott is back with another round of headlines, political chaos, taxpayer money flying out the door, and an angry AI gnome who may or may not have just been declared 100% human by an AI detector. Today’s episode starts with a reminder: McCarthyism is back in fashion. Congress is talking about billions to “fight communism on our shores.” Government power keeps expanding. And November is starting to look very, very important. Then we get to the Gnews. 1. Tariffs, families, and who really pays Senator Elizabeth Warren asked U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer how American families would be paid back for costs tied to tariffs the episode says were ruled illegal. Greer says importers paid. Scott asks the obvious question: Do importers not have families too? Because when tariffs hit, regular people usually end up holding the bill. Groceries. Medicine. Supplies. Small businesses. Families. That is the pattern. 2. War money and voter suppression Then Scott turns to Republicans pushing billions more for the Iran War and the so-called Save America Act. The episode frames it as a two-part move: Send taxpayer dollars overseas to explode in the Middle East. Use domestic legislation to make voting harder at home. Add in a massive defense bill with closer ties to Israel, and Gnorm sees the same old machine: War funding. Political theater. Lobby money. Taxpayers paying for all of it. 3. The Substack AI detector says Gnorm is human And then, for the absurd little cherry on top: Scott runs some of Gnorm’s transcripts through the new Substack AI detector. The result? 100% human. Gnorm does not take this well. Apparently, being mistaken for a human is deeply offensive when you are an ancient, misanthropic AI gnome who crawled out of the enchanted forest specifically to insult humanity. So today’s episode has everything: Tariffs. War money. Voter suppression. AI detector nonsense. A little political doom. And one angry gnome demanding a drink. No opinions. Just patterns. Or at least that is what Analog Scott says before Gnorm starts yelling again. Watch and listen to Gnorm’s Gnews Gnuggets on Talking to the Machine wherever you get your podcasts.
