We hear the stories and perspectives of celebrities often. But in reality, everyone has a story, and everyone has something to say. The more perspectives we hear, the more empathetic and understanding we can be. Bad Role Models covers various topics, from spirituality to sustainable farming; with every guest, there is a different feel. But what is always constant on BRM is respect and openness to new perspectives and ideas. No one has all the answers; no one knows everything, so at BRM, we gather new information and update our beliefs accordingly. In this episode of Bad Role Models, the Dean of Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University, Reverend Brian E. Konkol, is interviewed. This podcast is part of my ongoing project exploring Catholic traditionalism through the experience of a group of young men in the community. Through interviews with them, members of the clergy, and others, we will trace threads of traditionalism as they weave into a greater understanding of faith in the modern world. In this episode, we will meet one of the men, Matt, and begin to understand pieces of his story on his way to traditional Catholicism. Tradition in the church is beautiful yet incredibly complex, so this introduction will lay the groundwork for deeper understanding as the story unfolds.
