The Bridge Churches Podcast
Who would die for a lie? This is an important question to consider when evaluating the validity of the Bible. If the Gospels were fabricated, why would their authors suffer and die for what they wrote? In Week 2, we look at the men behind the manuscripts. Were they liars? Were they confused? Or were they simply reporting what they had seen and heard? The earliest Christians did not die for a philosophy - they died claiming they had seen a risen savior. Their message was not “follow this teaching,” but “we saw Him alive.” We’ll examine why theories of legend or conspiracy fail to account for the evidence, and why the rapid spread of Christianity in the first century demands an explanation. When you understand what these witnesses endured, the most probable explanation becomes increasingly clear. Come wrestle with the question: Would anyone die for what they knew was a lie?
