In which I undertake Madame Beck’s errands through the old town, delivering silks and a basket of fruit that leads me to a curious and rather uncanny encounter with Madame Walravens amidst an ancient, weather-beaten quarter where time and mystery seem to entwine. The episode closes beneath gathering stormclouds, amid a strange visit to an oratory-like chamber where an austere old priest prays in solemn vigil, leaving me reflecting on the arcane and solitary world within these faded walls.
