Episode Episode 5: Mojito Cover

Episode 5: Mojito

EPISODE NOTES Episode 5! You should notice a major bump in audio. I got a new microphone and actually read the instructions for using Audacity. That sure helped. THE MOJITO In a footed beer glass (~pint sized): Fill the bottom third with gently roughed up mint leaves. No stems. Add 20 ml Lime Juice and chuck a spent half in there too. 2 Bar Spoons (~8 Grams) Caster Sugar 45 ml White Rum Top with crushed ice and mix in an upward fashion with your spoon. Give it a nice splash of cold carbonated water. Top again with crushed ice and a handful of mint to garnish. Maybe a lime wheel too. Smell the mint and drink through a straw once the glass has frosted over. Thanks for listening! Episode 4: Bloody Mary

EPISODE NOTES Fourth Episode! Hangover. Bloody Mary. THE BLOODY MARY IN A MEDIUM SIZED CONTAINER: 375 ml (Half a bottle) Vodka 60 ml Orange Juice 60 ml Lemon Juice 15 ml Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce (a touch more will not hurt here) 2 tablespoons Ketchup 1 teaspoon Celery salt A few good grinds of fresh black pepper Mix all of this together so that the ketchup emulsifies and the salt and pepper is not lumpy. IN A LARGE VESSEL: A touch less than a liter (~950 ml) of plain tomato juice out of a can. No additives. From concentrate is okay. Add the vodka, ketchup, salt, pepper, juice mix from above. Stir all with ice to chill and dilute slightly. Remove ice by pouring through a colander into a glass pitcher (this is tough with shaky hands). Drink in small stemmed wine glasses without ice. Top off regularly and drink often for enjoyment not recuperation!
