These nations responded to Jerusalem’s collapse with mockery, revenge, arrogance, and delight instead of compassion. Ammon celebrated Judah’s downfall, Moab dismissed God’s people as no different from any other nation, Edom pursued generations of revenge and bitterness, and Philistia acted with deep hostility and contempt.
