Guest: Dr Sarah McLusky, Research events consultant and facilitator. Sarah McLusky is a freelance consultant, trainer and facilitatorspecialising in research events and communication. Sarah has been ‘research-adjacent’ for over 20 years. She has worked for universities and research projects, science centres and museums, learned societies and education providers. The common thread running throughout her career is making research more accessible and helping other people to do the same. Sarah’s academic background is in plant pathology/biochemistry, but she has worked across a hugerange of disciplines including all the sciences plus the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Sibel Cal Kayitmazbatir specialises in circadian rhythms and their impact on health and disease. She began her circadian research during her PhD in Turkey, complemented by four years of postdoctoral studies in the United States. After a career break for parental leave, she moved to the UK in 2024 to work on a project investigating circadian rhythm and redox system regulation. She is now establishing her independentresearch niche, integrating omics and computational approaches to understand circadian regulation and to predict optimal timing of therapeutic interventions.
