Episode The Healthcare System in the United States (Part Two) Cover

The Healthcare System in the United States (Part Two)

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Are those just empty platitudes, or do they have real meaning? On examination there appears to be one thing that is common to the state of each of those words. Health. It is virtually impossible to have life without health. It would seem our liberty does not exist when our health makes us dependent on others, drugs, or treatment to survive. Certainly there can be little happiness if we are not healthy. It seems for us to maintain the tenets of the American dream that health and the maintenance of our health should be front and center. But the system in the United States is not focused on health or even health care. The system’s aim is elsewhere and routinely misses the target.
