Sustainable Nutrition with Former Miss New Hampshire & Dietician Alyssa Fernandes

For today's episode, Adriana sits down with former Miss New Hampshire, Alyssa Fernandes. Alyssa is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and owner of Savor Dietetics LLC. She holds her Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Dietetics and Nutrition, and has ten years of experience in her field specializing in nutrition education and 1:1 nutrition counseling. She is a professor of Dietetics at Keiser University and contract Performance Dietitian at IMG Academy. In 2020, Alyssa was crowned Miss New Hampshire USA and represented her home state in the Miss USA pageant shortly after, At that time she used her platform to provide her community access to evidence-based nutrition education by partnering with organizations such as the New Hampshire Heart Association, the New Hampshire Science Café, and the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains. Alyssa now shares her passion for nutrition and dietetics through her company, Savor Dietetics, where she emphasizes evidence-based practice and encourages clients to find pleasure in eating on their journey to optimal health. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys cycling and plans to ride 180 miles in the Pan Mass Challenge this summer to raise funds for cancer research in honor of her late mother as the 2023 Lungstrong scholarship recipient.
