Episode Should Children be in Church? Cover

Should Children be in Church?

Join us, Andrew and Emilie, on our podcast as we explore the family integrated model of worship. On this episode, we delve into the biblical foundations that support children being present with their families during the Lord’s Day Gathering. We also explore some of then possible consequences and pitfalls from departing from the biblical pattern. Tune in to our conversation that could reshape your understanding of children, the family, and the church! Five Biblical Arguments for Family Integration:     1.    Pattern: Families worship together. Children are always with parents during gatherings, festivals, or assemblies in Scripture (Ex 12:24-26; Dt 16:9-14; 31:12-13; Josh 8:35; Joel 2:15-16; Ps 148 7, 13; Ez 10:1; Neh 12:43; 2 Chr 20:13).     2.    Command: No commands to segregate or separate during gatherings, festivals, or assemblies in Scripture.     3.    Children are present in the NT Gathering on the Lord’s Day (Eph 6:1-3; Col 3:20).     4.    The only teachers in the NT are elders. There are no other qualified teachers (1 Tim 3:2).     5.    The Scriptures are for children, too (Dt 6; Prov 5:7; 7:24; 8:32).
