The Final Cut - Episode #10

The Final Cut has finally reached double figures and, despite arriving 2 weeks late, is full to the brim with everything film-related. Josh has been to the Manchester International Film Festival to see Public Figure and Princess of The Row whilst James has been been watching Quentin Tarantino interviews. There's also some in -depth chat about the Michael Jackson documentary - Leaving Neverland - and the upcoming Aladdin re-make.  Elsewhere the boys discuss prison dramas, the seemingly impossible to watch Michael McConaughey vehicle Serenity and finally end up at the industry behind making film trailers.

The Final Cut - Episode #9

Following our 2 hour Oscars special last week, Josh has sought solace in a 40th anniversary screening of Ridley Scott's seminal Alien whilst James has been busying himself with Steven Merchant's new comedy Fighting With My Family.  The lads also conduct a thorough Oscars debrief, discuss the possibility of 'Oscar-winner' Rami Malek starring as Bond 25's villain and ruminate on the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel. Elsewhere Josh delivers some shocking Birdman opinions and talks about his favourite Mark Wahlberg fact, and, finally, the topic of which actor would play you in a biopic makes an appearance.

The Final Cut - Episode #8

The Final Cut is back for a feature-length Oscars special, and Josh and James have finally got around to watching The Favourite just in time for the big day. Before the Oscars talk however, there's some exciting Edgar Wright news, an enthralling wrestling chat due to the upcoming Hulk Hogan biopic and a bit of a music biopic related rant.  Following the break, the boys discuss the litany of controversies behind this year's awards, their picks for the main prizes up for grabs and the molecular level on which Josh despises Bohemian Rhapsody.

The Final Cut - Episode #7

The Final Cut returns in 2019 and Josh and James have spent their respective new year periods avoiding work and watching a ridiculous quantity of films. There's reviews of Vice, Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, and a little bit of Russian Doll to look forward to. In addition, the lads talk about some 'recent' film news including the upcoming Breaking Bad sequel, some classic Disney live-action remake bashing, and, of course, Josh goes off on one about Bohemian Rhapsody. Again.

The Final Cut - Episode #6

The Final Cut returns for one last time in 2018 and Josh and James have both been to watch very different films this week, with James having been to see the critically-acclaimed Japanese drama Shoplifters and Josh having been to a very festive (and cold) screening of Die Hard. The boys also reflect on their favourite films of 2018 as well as discussing their top picks for 2019 and laughing at a number of upcoming films they still can't quite believe are being made. There's also plenty of time for the usual nonsense you've come to know and love including Josh's past hair styles, James' appreciation for Zooey Deschanel and, of course, their most beloved Christmas films. Thank you all for the support in 2018 and we hope to be back with even more film and TV reviews/news (and literally anything else we fancy talking about) in 2019.
