Don't Hide Your PRs: Why Owning Your Expertise Isn't Bragging Welcome back to Tread Talks. Real coaching moments. From the scary, messy, exciting startup space. Take the next two minutes to move your body — and your business — forward. And remember: you're not doing this alone. Can I tell you something I'm a little embarrassed about? When I closed my gym, I started introducing myself as "just a trainer." Just. Like everything I'd built, everything I knew, everything I'd put in the work for — was somehow less than what it used to be. I used to give my gym members a burpee penalty for talking about themselves that way. I owe myself a lot of burpees. Here's a Hey Coach question that hits this one right on the head. "Hey Coach. I have the credentials, the experience, the whole resume — but every time I try to show up as the expert, I downplay it. Why is it so hard to just own what I know?" Nobody hides their PRs to make the person on the next platform feel better about their lift. You post it. You own it. It's proof of the work you put in — and it's exactly what tells the right person they're in good hands. Your credentials are your training log. They belong on the wall. I worked with a client launching her own podcast — an actual doctorate behind her name — who kept finding ways to minimize it. Worried it would feel like bragging. Worried it would make her seem unapproachable. Here's what I told her: Your one tip: Stop treating your expertise like a spoiler. The right people aren't intimidated by your credentials — they're looking for them. Owning what you know isn't arrogance. It's how the people who need you most actually find you. Remember, progress happens one rep at a time — in your body and your business.  📞Book a call with me here 🎧 If startup overwhelm is keeping you stuck, you don't have to figure it out alone. TREAD TALKS: You Are the Foundation

You Are Not the Flexible Piece | Why Entrepreneurs Must Protect Their Own Time  Why is it so easy to keep commitments to everyone else—but cancel the ones we make to ourselves? In this episode of Tread Talks, I explore one of the most common patterns I see in entrepreneurs: treating their own time as optional. Workouts get skipped. Creative projects get postponed. Rest gets pushed aside. Meanwhile, client meetings and deadlines always stay on the calendar. The truth is, you are not the flexible piece in your business. You are the foundation. Drawing from both business coaching and fitness, I share a simple mindset shift that can help you protect your energy, honor your priorities, and build a business that is sustainable—not just productive. In this episode, you'll learn: * Why entrepreneurs keep canceling on themselves * The hidden cost of treating your time as optional * What fitness teaches us about boundaries and recovery * How to create stronger habits that support long-term business growth * One practical step to start protecting your time today * If you're ready to stop putting yourself last, this episode is for you. Subscribe to The Fitness of Business for practical coaching that helps you build a stronger business—and a stronger life. If you enjoyed this episode, please follow, rate, and leave a review. TREAD TALKS: Selling Without Scaring | A Better Way to Build Trust

Do you feel uncomfortable selling your services because so much marketing relies on fear? You're not alone. In this episode of Tread Talks, I answer a question I hear from entrepreneurs all the time: How do I sell confidently without using high-pressure or fear-based tactics? The truth is, you don't have to create anxiety to earn trust. Drawing on lessons from the fitness world, I explain why the best coaches—and the best businesses—sell from possibility instead of panic. When people understand where they are, where they want to go, and how you'll help them get there, they don't need to be pressured into saying yes. In this episode, you'll learn: * Why fear-based sales often create short-term customers * How possibility-based selling builds trust and loyalty * The difference between manipulation and genuine leadership * How to communicate your value without feeling "salesy" * A simple framework for creating authentic sales conversations If you've ever struggled with selling because it felt inauthentic, this episode will show you another way. There's no shortage of wellness advice these days—but more information doesn't always lead to better health. In this episode of The Fitness of Business, I sit down with wellness expert, nutrition coach, and podcast host Jenn Trepeck to unpack why so many people feel overwhelmed by conflicting health advice and what it actually takes to build sustainable habits that last. TREAD TALKS: Change the Program, Not the Goal

Change the Program, Not the Goal | How to Pivot Without Giving Up  What happens when the plan you've spent months building suddenly falls apart? Maybe the lease falls through. The partnership ends. The funding disappears. Or the opportunity you were counting on simply doesn't happen. In this episode of Tread Talks, I share a coaching lesson that's helped countless entrepreneurs navigate setbacks without abandoning their vision. In fitness, an injury doesn't mean giving up on the goal—it means changing the training plan. Business works the same way. If your original strategy no longer works, it doesn't automatically mean your dream is wrong. Sometimes the goal stays exactly the same, but the path to get there needs to change. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL LEARN: * Why setbacks don't define your business * The difference between changing your goal and changing your strategy * How to pivot without feeling like you've failed * Why resilience is one of the most valuable entrepreneurial skills * A practical mindset shift for navigating unexpected challenges If you're rebuilding after a setback or questioning your next step, this short coaching conversation will remind you that adapting isn't failure—it's smart leadership.
