In light of the humanitarian crises in Sudan and Gaza I thought about whether Jesus Christ could ever be viewed as a humanitarian. How does he differ from the philanthropists we know. I also recommend watching two movies to sort of contextualize the Slave Trade and its Abolition, and parallel this to a different kind of slavery that is at the center of why Christ has come to redeem us.
