43. Jill Apgar of Coco Beans

In this episode, we talk with Jill Apgar, founder of Coco Beans [https://cocobeansco.com]. Coco Beans is a luxury textile brand that transforms bedtime into peaceful magic and mornings into a tangle-free zone. They start by sourcing the world's softest, most luxurious fabrics to create 'icky-free' bedding and sleepwear. A favorite among pediatricians, dermatologists, and celebrities, all coco beans products are hypoallergenic, temperature regulating, breathable, machine-washable, moisture-wicking, hydrating and SUPER SOFT! Their best selling, 100% silk crib sheets have earned features in top publications including US Weekly, Business Insider, and Scary Mommy and they continue to expand their assortment to offer a full suite of luxury sleep essentials. Jill grew up in New Jersey and studied economics and finance at Cornell University. Her first life pivot came upon graduation when she decided to forgo investment banking to pursue a career in fashion merchandising which led her to Columbus, OH. Since moving to Columbus in 2008, Jill has led merchant teams at Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria's Secret PINK, and DSW gaining nearly fifteen years of experience in product development, global sourcing and brand building. In July 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Jill was laid off from her corporate job - an event that served as the catalyst for where she is today. Inspired by a product she developed to manage her daughter's curly hair, Jill made her second life pivot, launching Coco Beans in October 2020!
